Now that I’m off FB everyone keeps saying “what about Insta?” for me, there are two big differences:

1. Instagram seems to be way more positive. Obviously there’s a lot to criticize re: influencers and Instamodels and whatnot, but I haven’t encountered the same trolling and bile that I find of Facebook.
2. I have a way easier time seeing Insta as entertainment and treating it as such, whereas FB was constantly tricking me into thinking I was engaging with something meaningful rather than trading my data to play the validation slot machine.

That said, maybe I will get off Insta eventually. I know I check it way too often.
