Seems you’re both right. To Meredith’s point: I’ve had editors tell me to keep paragraphs short when writing for the internet, and having always been more of a hard-boiled Hemingway guy I’ve found writing that way helps me stay organized and efficient.

As for the one sentence paragraph, Mike, I think it’s one of those devices that looses its effectiveness quickly with overuse. It’s no longer emphatic if you emphasize everything.

One thing’s for sure, the internet is hurting for careful writing, or even just writing that’s been given a once-over before the author clicked “publish.” It’s good to see someone fighting the good fight.
